Everyone Soap, Coconut Lemon, 2 x 32 oz, Certified GF

Everyone 3-in-1 soap. Coconut plus Lemon. 32 oz, 2 Count. Cruelty free, paraben free, polysorbate free, disodium EDTA free, gluten free, non-GMO verified, sodium laureth/lauryl sulfate free.

The “Everyone” line of 3 in 1 soaps (shampoo, body wash, bubble bath) and lotions have been our go-to for a while now. My bottles of both soaps and lotions I’ve used have always read certified gluten free, although certification and gluten free status may vary from product to product. I put these in Humangear GoToobs for traveling. Since I have Celiac Disease, I can’t trust trust products included with hotel rooms to be gluten free or safe for me.

Gluten Free Diet is Inadequate for Many Celiac Disease Sufferers

I received this email today from the Celiac Disease Foundation…

The evidence cannot be denied:

For many, if not most, celiac disease patients, strict adherence to a gluten-free diet is an inadequate treatment for celiac disease.

Because research dollars have been so hard to come by for celiac disease, biomedical researchers are still at the beginning of understanding the short- and long-term implications of the disease. What they have learned, however, is shocking: for many more celiac disease patients than ever previously thought, even strict adherence to a gluten-free diet, while possibly tempering symptoms, does not resolve celiac disease and/or comorbidities associated with celiac disease.

These revelations have only fortified CDF’s commitment to support celiac disease research for FDA-approved treatments and a cure. You are likely aware of iCureCeliac®, our growing and revolutionary patient registry that is fundamentally and positively changing the economics of celiac disease research. We are also proud of an exciting new, strategic initiative, the Young Investigators Award (YIA). I use this exact tenderizer and it works great.

The main thing I use this for is to make a gluten free version of Alton Brown’s Swiss Steak Recipe. That is one of my favorite meals. It’s delicious.

I make the following modifications…

Skip the flour. You could use gluten free flour instead, but it turns out great with no flour at all.
I double the recipe except for the dried oregano. For whatever reason, I don’t like the full amount of oregano.
I bake for about 3 hours instead of 1.5 to 2 hours.
Of course you’ll want to ensure all other ingredients are gluten free as well.
